ik i've already talked a little about sonic's adjustment period to snowpoint irt him getting winded more easily (thinner air at higher altitudes), but i also think he'd get sick shortly after being relocated there. the altitude + colder temperature + stress build up from starline's bootcamp would create a cocktail of sniffles for sonic.

he'd probably try to push through it like he always does, and he DEFINITELY wouldn't want anyone worrying about him, but jack would notice. she boasts about being better than him, sure, but when he's slower than usual, she picks up on that. when he can't pay attention and is swaying on his feet, she gets suspicious. he doesn't want her figuring it out so he tries to avoid her, but she's in top form and he's not. he's burning up! idiot, she doesn't want to compete with someone who's at a disadvantage--winning doesn't mean anything if he's too sick to even see straight.

jack's no doctor, and sonic is weirdly adamant about not seeing one. he doesn't need one. he can sweat this out. whatever. but jack's got a strong grip on his arm and she doesn't let go as she drags him across town to the doctor's office.

what's that? it's not actually called the "doctor's" office? a very new-looking sign out front says it's called the nurse's office? huh. well, that's certainly a choice. i wonder how long it takes for paint to dry...

anyway, it's warm in there. a stark contrast to outside. cute posters on the walls, children's toys stacked up in the corner, a strong antiseptic smell. sonic is antsy. he doesn't want to be there. at some point, jack had handed sonic off to sun--who's still around, since it's still pretty early on in the timeline--and her gentler, reason-focused approach soothes some of his frayed nerves. but not completely.

when the nurse finally shows up, he creeps sonic out. he barely says anything. just looks him over once, makes a grunting noise, and then writes something on a clipboard. he hands it out to sonic but sonic doesn't trust him. sun takes it instead. "common cold. rest and decongestant. should be better in 3-5 days." sun tells sonic that's great news and sonic is like... what? how'd he get that from one look... but the nurse just hands him a sticker (it's a star with a smiley face on it) and then walks away. strangely, sonic gets the feeling that this is the best experience he's ever had with a medical professional

This is no longer a want it is a need.

A: I headcanon that Taranza's species as a whole (including Tillda) have innate abilities in both plant and web magic (and probably crystal magic too). But that doesn't mean all of them practice or use that magic on a regular basis—Tillda, for example, rarely has a major reason to make webs aside from doing her hair, and she almost never uses her plant magic. So, she's not exactly battle-tested, but she wouldn't hesitate to sling a spell or two in self-defense.

PS: If Taranza's is pink and Sectonia's is golden, I think Tillda's magic aura ought to be purple!

PPS: It was mostly Tillda that supported Taranza's study of puppeteering magic (which is NOT one of their species' innate abilities). She didn't understand the first thing about it herself, but it was one of the few things that continued to make her little brother genuinely cheerful in the wake of their parents' sudden absence, so… escorting him to puppetry classes and sorcerers' seminars was soon just part of life.

A: I would have to think Tillda is a heavy sleeper. Her job is pretty stressful and she always comes home tired. And she does take naps, but never intentionally…

today my computer has felt in a pranksty mood ! it felt funny and goofy and decided to not let me save anything and when i tried to open my file it said it was corrupted or didnt exist...☺️☺️ hours... of work...☺️☺️ and just a few days ago it deleted multiple hours of work on another file ! ☺️☺️
